The Energy Gardeners’ Club: Experiments To Cultivate Seeds of Magic In Your Life

Energy Gardeners Club

Inspired by the success of the E-Squared Book Club, The Energy Gardeners' Club will continue the practice of energy experiments to cultivate the seeds of magic in your life, while connecting in nature, and creating a circle of support to empower your actions. We will revisit certain experiments from the E-Squared book - and the magic wands! - and we'll go beyond the book into the everyday practice of energy experimentation in our own lives. Sessions and experiments will reflect the themes of planting, growing, and harvesting the fruits of our intentions, with an emphasis on practical aspects of energy work. *Bring a sketchbook with blank (not lined) pages, your favorite sketching tools (pens, pencils, crayons, markers, etc), and a blanket or chair to sit on. Wear layers and sunscreen. Recommended Reading: E-Squared: Nine Do-It-Yourself Energy Experiments That Prove Your Thoughts Create Your Reality by Pam Grout

E-Squared Book Club: Week 7

For the past seven Wednesdays, I have shown up at 10am at Quarry Park, and at 5:15pm on the phone, ready to explore the latest energy experiment from Pam Grout's book, E-Squared, with the participants in E-Squared Book Club. For six of the seven mornings we were blessed with warmth, sunshine, and perfect conditions for sitting outside to marvel at the goodness and beauty available to us at all times. On our final Wednesday, it was looking like we might need a "Plan B". The first winter storm of the year had arrived and stayed the entire two days before. I sent out emails announcing an alternative indoor location. But on the morning of our scheduled meeting, it was clear. Not quite sunny, but definitely not raining. We gathered at the usual spot, each wearing our rain gear, just in case. Tammy brought her young sunflower sprouts (from Experiment #5) to plant in the clearing where we had gathered for our meetings. Our plan was to hike about a mile up to a lookout above the labyrinth. As we began to plant the seedlings, it started to rain gently. I managed to get a few pictures before my iPad had to go back in my pack.

E-Squared Book Club: Week 5

This week we discussed Experiments #6 (The Superhero Principle) and #7 (The Jenny Craig Principle). Both principles relate to the ability of our thoughts to impact physical matter in the material world. First we discussed the results of the seed experiment. As you may recall, Tammy gifted us with sunflower seeds from her studio garden, along with a little bag of soil. It was such a beautiful gift! I went home and planted my seeds that night. As I tossed them into the soil playfully, I said, "Isn't it AMAZING that this one row of seeds is already growing faster than the other row?? I'm AMAZED!". At that point, of course, they were "just" dry seeds going into soil, sitting on my kitchen table. Nothing had happened yet. Except my thought and feeling of ALREADY being amazed at their growth. Two days later, I was truly amazed to see sprouts beginning to show. I literally thought nothing about these seeds other than the feeling of amazement that they were already growing faster.

E-Squared Book Club: Week 3 – Laser Focused Intention

How was Experiment #4 for you? With our Thoughts we create the worldThis week's meeting was all about finding the intention that aligns the most with true desire, and then filling every cell of our body with that desire. But not in the way you might normally think of desire, as "I want". This kind of desire is the experience of living as if your intention has already come true. So if you "want" a new car, picture yourself in vivid detail enjoying every inch of that new car. Feel the leather seats, play with the sleek console, experience the punch of the gas pedal, see your hair whipping in the wind if it's a convertible. Now feel the sensation in every cell of your body as you imagine this scene. THAT is the feeling of having a laser-focused intention. Continue reading

The E-Squared Book Club: Week 1

We walk in silence along a narrow path that takes us into the shade of a eucalyptus grove. We are flanked by these giants, stretching upwards infinitely, only the birds knowing the space above them. We walk with our intentions softly carried in our attention, as we listen to the birds, feel the breeze, and notice our feet, one in front of the other, walking the path. Then, we reach a clearing. The trees step back, and stretch up the sides of the hill around us, forming a bowl. A container of energy. On the ground, a labyrinth. Here we sit on the grassy clearing and experience the infinite potential rising in every direction, encircling us. Quarry Park labyrinthThis is where we meet to explore our own connection to the Field of Infinite Potential, or as Pam Grout abbreviates it, “the FP”. We meet to share our excitement, our discoveries, our observations as we enter into the nine experiments outlined in the book, E-Squared: Nine Do-it-yourself Energy Experiments That Prove Your Thoughts Create Your Reality. The invitation of these experiments is to use our own daily life, our own powers of observation and attention, to capture moments when we tangibly feel our connection to the FP. When we are plugged in to what is available to us at all times, but so often obscured by habits of thinking, cultural osmosis, and prior conditioning. Continue reading

E-Squared Book Club: 9 Do-It-Yourself Energy Experiments in 7 Weeks

Retraining the mind is much like potty-training a puppy. You need to keep taking it outside and showing it the beauty, the majesty, the truth.” – Pam Grout, author of "E-Squared: Nine Do-It-Yourself Energy Experiments That Prove Your Thoughts Create Your Reality" (New York Times bestseller)esquared-RGB
I devoured this book in one sitting, because I couldn’t wait to see what all nine experiments would involve. In one entertaining, short book that is easy to read, Pam Grout touches on all the major spiritual principles and invites us to be scientists in our own lives. She's read all the major self-help gurus, taken their workshops, gone to the conferences. And she's lived their lessons in her own way. She captures what she's learned with humor, simplicity, and clarity so that anyone can begin to explore how our thoughts create our own reality. Don’t take her (or my) word for it, do the experiments yourself. Be willing to prove yourself wrong, and be open to whatever shows up for you. Let’s start "potty-training our puppy" minds together, share stories of our own experiments, and bring greater awareness of the magic available to us in our everyday lives. Connect more deeply with what you truly want, and learn principles and techniques for inviting it to show up in your life, starting right now.
