Window, Mirror, Map: Exploring Self in a Creative Notebook Practice

Background image of collage and paint, with text Window, Mirror, Map: Exploring Self in a Creative Notebook Practice, October 1 & 8, 9am to 11am PT, live on ZOOM

Take stock of where you are now and explore your vision for the future using mixed media visual art and writing in a creative notebook practice.

Whether you are new to personal writing and art or have an established practice that is ready for a refresh, this online class will offer you inspiration and specific prompts to deepen your understanding of yourself through this creative art form.

Over two Saturdays, we will explore how the pages we make in a creative notebook can give insight into our unique perspective on the world like a window, how they can reflect aspects of our inner lives like a mirror, and how they can help orient us in the current landscape of our life journeys like a map. You will also learn mindsets that help in the establishment of a joyful and sustainable creative notebook practice that is meaningful to you.

These classes will be a combination of lecture, demonstration, hands-on practice, and connection with fellow participants. We will be inspired by the notebooks of artists, thinkers, and explorers throughout history, as well as poetry, visual art, and writing prompts to get our hands moving across the page.

Two Saturdays: October 1st and 8th, 2022

9am to 11am PT, live on ZOOM

A basic list of materials will be provided before the first class.

Offered through Stanford Healthy Living program.

Open to all.

Registration opens September 1, 2022.
