This workshop has been postponed due to illness.

Please see “NEWS” section for message from Charlie Varon and myself.

One-day writing workshop with Charlie Varon, writer/director/performer, and Lisa Chu, multidisciplinary artist/coach

“Everyone has a story to tell.” How often have we heard these words? They seem so simple. But how we write stories is far from simple.

This workshop is for writers at all levels who want to stretch and surprise themselves. We will experiment with narrative strategies, including:

* expanding and compressing time
* linking stories to digressions
* shifting point of view
* working with both terse and lush prose styles.

The goal is to expand your writing “palette,” to enlarge your craft.

"My experience is that by strengthening craft, you perceive more and become not just a stronger writer, but a slightly different person." - Charlie Varon

"The four most compassionate words a teacher ever spoke to me were, ‘Play the wrong note.’ I’m thrilled to be joining Charlie to witness the magic of humans in pursuit of creative authenticity."
- Lisa Chu

Note: This is a writing workshop. There will be no performance.
